Daze Like Today
Yes please, all is well in hell – down here where the crabs crawl crazy like a plague I have spent the last 7 hours locked like a willing victim in my bed less room cutting and spluttering over the special little sleeves our new EP will be presented in. There were disasters, but then there will always be. Today I especially hate enamel paint because it takes too damn long to dry and I am notoriously impatient. Anyway, whilst this stuff hangs on the walls preparing to be packaged up, still manic through fear I may not meet the imaginary line of death that I have set myself, i have taken a moment to finish off a piece titled ‘City Girl’. Built from scraps of rubbish from my studio floor, this girl is the type who will relish any opportunity to suck and cut the throats of weaker men and maybe even women – nice.
To Have And To Hold
Yesterday, Mr Crook took possession of a brown cardboard box of Lost Belongings. I’d show you a picture of it, except it didn’t occur to me to take one and anyway – frankly – it’s pretty dull. What’s inside the box is, of course, much more fascinating. Here are a couple of shots of one of the CDs in its “standard edition” incarnation (Tesco Value, innit), without the limited edition sleeve.
Another milestone on the crooked path. Even as I write, Mr Crook is slashing and folding canvas. Two rivers away, Tom Murderbird is splicing and dicing one of the EP’s videos, chasing the ghost of Alfred Hitchcock. And because the formal details haven’t appeared here yet (though the eagle-eyed might have seen them added quietly to the Releases page last week), here’s the track list:
- Lest We Connect The Crooked Family
- Little Treasure
- Scare Crows
- Vices Manifest O
- Impossible Loss Brigade
The “official” release date for the EP is the 4th of July, though in reality a few of these fledglings will probably flee the nest slightly earlier – at the Camden Barfly gig on 2nd July, for example. For people who can’t make the gigs, a downloadable version will be available. We’re also working out the mechanics of selling the CDs by post, for those who want something to have and to hold.
The Broken Marriage
Broken Arts 3
Today I lost my house key (again) but, ordered safety pins, got stickers printed up, and confirmed another date for the tour in October – Escobar, Wakefield. Otherwise, been speaking to Venue promoters around the North in the hope we can get some more gigs for October. xxx
White primed and always ill timed – enamel, acyrlick, glitter, and glue.
