A huge thank you to everybody who donated money to pay for Hicks to be towed. You will no doubt see her hug the road next year. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
When the day comes and Hicks finally splutters her last breath, she will be sacrificed for a music video. With a can of petrol and a match, flames licking the night sky, we will gently roll her into the river Medway.
… but not just yet.

Bless that van and those who saved her. I got tipped off that she was due to get crushed the same day as your donations tipped the balance. It was beautiful timing. I travelled from The Unawarehouse over to Hoo, where there, our good friend Doug agreed to keep her hidden safely. Come 2010 we hope to have her ready to ride. xxx Once again – many thanks.

Hicks was parked in the yard outside the Unawarehouse, the studio that Mr Crook and The Mrs rented over the summer. Her engine hadn’t started for months. When they left at the end of August, the landlord gave Mr Crook a week to move her. She wasn’t initially top of the band’s priorities so nothing happened… a week became six weeks and thankfully the landlord wasn’t as proactive in organising her destruction as promised.
