   The funereal link was posted with you in mind. So glad you saw it. One day I might write about the magpie that died (I think I killed it, with kindness) and the overwhelming guilt I’ve felt ever since. The bird is a powerful symbol in my personal bestiary.

   As for magpies… my scavenging eye was caught exactly one year ago today by this cover art for Rose Kemp’s Unholy Majesty album. Then a few months later I read this great interview, in which she talks about the cover artwork and the mythology behind the magpie.
