New Single & Video – World’s End / Devil’s Son
Hey punk rockers. The Crooked Family are massively excited to announce that the first Lupen Crook release of the year will be a limited edition double ‘A’ side 7″ single and download comprising World’s End and a re-recorded version of Devil’s Son, available on Monday 12th July.
This single is the first proper taster of the new material from the forthcoming third album, The Pros and Cons of Eating Out, which will be released later in the year and which forms the basis for most of our live sets this summer.
The album was recorded at Ranscombe Studios with Jim Riley and remixed by Howie B. It’s been a long and wonky road but the album is now finished. All your support so far has been massively appreciated. We hope this first offering begins to make it all worth while. Long may it continue.
World’s End and Devils Son is being released by Label Fandango and the 7″ Vinyl comes with a Crooked lyric insert for each track. It’ll be available by mail order from the label and direct from this website. You’ll also be able to buy the tracks via download and purchase the 7″ at gigs after the release date.
I mentioned the trip we all took down to Dungeness to shoot a video for World’s End, which is proudly presented above (also available on YouTube). Dave Wise has done a fantastic job. He’s also put a great pinhole shot of us at the beach on his blog. If you manage to get your hands on the vinyl you’ll also see I’ve bastardised one of Hg’s Dungeness shots for one of the lyric inserts, which all form part of this lovely little offering.
So, with the single set for release, album ready to rock and a healthy string of festival appearances lined up, our Crooked Summer Of Hate is all set to start. It would be wonderful if you can join us!

Yeah I am! I dyed my hair brown, or so I thought, but I left it on for far too long and it went proper black. It looked fucking awful. I panicked and went to the first hairdresser I could find that day, got the colour stripped out and re dyed brown. As time goes by, its going this weird brownish copper orange. Not natural though, just a terrible mix of allsorts. x

lovely video for a lovely song. i like how you start singing the song on your own then stagger,making your way to your bandmates for them to give hand/help and finish off the song!

Funny that. One idea for the video of Worlds End was the Crooked Family singing / drinking around a campfire, inspired by a video Hg put us onto, its slipped my mind though. Anyway, the presence of armed police at Dungerness made that one impossible so we settled for near drowning. x
No need to be coy about this. One can be a punk rockin’ fight folker and still like ABBA.

Great video! watched it with no sound so World’s End is still f-f-f-fresh for July. Clever finkin huh?
Also, thanks Hg for taking the hint and getting my t-shirt out to me to wear for my new tattoo and fly that Crooked flag. One of my daughters thinks it’s got creepy eyes. Another said “Is that you?” to me. (A compliment for Mr Crook there!

But don’t worry – there’s no big rush… I’m not going anywhere cool to showcase the merch at anytime soon… in fact it’ll probably all end up covered in dribble as some playgroup… oh the glamour. Hi, I went to school with Clayton and a link for this came up on my wall recently. As I’m new to f/b and only just got in touch with him I thought I would check it out. To my surprise I really liked it and have just bought World’s End from itunes. Great track and I look forward to finding out more!
