How do we follow the sad news in the previous post? It hasn’t been our most pressing concern, but it has crossed our mind. This wasn’t the plan… However, time marches onwards and needs must when the devil’s son drives into town.
The band is playing a gig at the Bull & Gate in Kentish Town (London), next Monday evening, July 5th. Stage time is 9:15pm and there’s a free guestlist. All we need is your names in the comments for this post by midday on the day itself.
In other news, we filmed a video for forthcoming single Devil’s Son on Saturday. The picture above shows a tired and achy band relaxing for five minutes in the late afternoon sun, before diving back into the hottest venue in the world for a final take.

Looking forward to seeing the video, I love the new version of the track! Browsing through a few old blog posts I came across the pics of you filming the video for Pirate’s Wife, I was wondering if the finished product may surface soon?

Hi Dan. Earlier on this year, Pirate’s Wife was a contender for first 2010 single, hence the video. Then we realised that for various reasons World’s End was a better choice for a song of that tempo.
We’ve tucked the PW video in our back pocket for now, along with the one that was made for How To Murder Birds last year. It’ll see the light of day later this year.
The new album has twelve tracks. There’s a madly ambitious plan to do a video for each of them! Devil’s Son is the fourth and we’re already talking about the fifth…

Ah Yes! I remember the How To Murder Birds video. Would be great to see them at some point. But for the moment I guess I’ll have to sit here and get excited about the album. Thanks for the info Hg!

Just realised I’m losing count… Lest We Connect is on the album too, so that’s FIVE videos already, with the sixth currently being planned.
All being well, we’ll be releasing the Devil’s Son video on Monday 12th July, alongside the single itself. Just got the second set of footage from Dave Wise; frantic editing to follow.
All I can say about the album so far is “later this year”…
