Lunacy

Will lunacy ever take her eyes off me and let this old soul go back home?
She’s been knocking off the shops, she’s been picking at the locks
She’s been overwhelmed with a sense of shame
She’s been slipping down the street, she’s been unplugging the leaks
In the hope that something can wash this feeling off
She says we never watch the sunrise, so how do we know it’s the day?
We could be just losing our minds
I really hope that, for her sake, for her sake, she’s right
Will lunacy ever take her eyes off me and let this old soul go back home
… through the streets we roam
There’s bodies bleeding in the East, whilst the rest of London sleeps
She making deals with every run away and rag-a-tag
Cuz Daddy’s drinking dry each fix, got some guilt ‘bout what he did
And Mother’s changed her name, address and destiny and left
Luna living off the streets, jumping guns and sharing sheets
Holding out for someone she hopes that she never finds
But she don’t care because her light side shines golden when the dawn breaks through
And it feels like she’s losing her mind
I really hope that, for her sake, for her sake, she’s right
Will lunacy ever take her eyes off me and let this old soul go back home?
… through the streets we roam

lovely lyrics man, think my favourite bit apart from the obvious catchy ” chours” is :

…”There’s bodies bleeding in the East, whilst the rest of London sleeps
She making deals with every run away and rag-a-tag
Cuz Daddy’s drinking dry each fix, got some guilt ‘bout what he did
And Mother’s changed her name, address and destiny and left
Luna living off the streets, jumping guns and sharing sheets
Holding out for someone she hopes that she never finds”…

long live Lupen Crook & The Murderbirds! x
