The Critic
The courtesan and the actor, he painter, she loose
A known player of emotion, he paints each princess
See I’ve been writing for these strangers, they never write me back
So I la, la, la, each secret, I say “Baby drop that act”
There’s no such thing as method, there’s no such thing as rhyme
There is no reason for you to be doing this all the time
The courtesan like the actor, well the phantom like his wife
Have no such thing that is anything, just two dirty mouths and award winning eyes
I stalk the great lines they’ve rehearsed, cross words give me clues
And I pick them up like pennies and pass them back to you
This critic lives alone, works bony knuckles into skulls
He’d really like to writer you down
One suck, one breath, one bang, one blow
The pressures on but I don’t know how to . . .
This is critic, so they say knave-in-sane to miscellaneous folk
A button nosed bastard, find a feeling, write a letter and shove it down your throat
C’mon all you critics, how the story sitting, is it as uncomfortable as all of you
Hey lady, hey lady, hey gentleman, how d’ya like this dance
Hope you brought your stab jacket, you only get one chance
Oh this is the critic, he goes by the name of Lumiere De Ville
“Hey man, where d’ya get a name like that”
Picking petals fresh from road kill
Picking petals fresh from road kill

this is a corker.its awesome reading your lyrics i mean compared to hearing them in-song,its a wonder to me how you fit them in sometimes!
“c’mon all you critics, hows the story sitting, is it as uncomfortable as all of youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-ahhhhh” i love when you prolong the end lyric/s and “yelp” n “scream” gotta love it so

This was always one of my favorites off Iscariot… The whole song rolls brilliantly but I personally like when it picks up from the “One suck, one breath, one bang, one blow” bit and then clue mad guitars and rockin horn section!!
Speaking of Lumiere De Ville- are you still working on getting that book out for us to read?
