World’s End
These boats I can’t sail and wings I ain’t got
The birds I’ve loved, like the good self I’ve forgot
I’ve got to go to the man and say ‘Hey man, I am thinking’
Thinking dark and desperate things
I’ve got to go to the man and say ‘Hey man, I’ve been tripping’
Tripping over all manner of things
As these words slip from my lips they leave a cruel taste on my tongue
And it’s just here I realise, the beast I have become
You said lightning never lasts, so why the face of thunder, why that rainbow tear?
You look pretty in the past, perhaps that’s why I see no future, that’s why I see no end
I promise that one day I’ll find the heart
And with the aid of only madness, wonder when that day will start
A storm so revealing that my thick skin might shed
And if my woman’s kind enough, she’ll let me back beneath her bed
I’ve got to go to the man and say ‘Hey man I am missing’
Missing out on the best years of this life
I’ve got to go to the man and say ‘Hey man I am feeling’
Feeling so utterly and perfectly unsound
You said lightning never lasts, so why the face of thunder, why that rainbow tear
Cuz if we’re at the world’s end, with the fire and the thunder, and it’s reduced us all to this…

Beautiful song, been around for a while and due for release this year. There’s a really early (and terribly dark) version on YouTube here. It’s “grown” a lot since then… wait till you hear the harmonies.
